Maki-e Mirror
The mirror decorated by Maki-e that is a Japanese traditional crafting technique.
Maki-e is a typical Japanese lacquer work technique uniquely developed in Japan and has been used for about 1200 years.
Patterns are painted with a slender brush and Japanese lacquer and gold powder is sprinkled on the wet lacquer to be fixed.
Maki-e derives from “a pattern sprinkled with (gold powder)” in Japanese.
Maki-e has been exported to Europe and other countries for 400 years, and is still known as "Maki-e" in foreign countries.
The compact mirror is the set of a 1× mirror decorated with Maki-e and a 3× magnifying mirror.
